About

With over 15 years professional experience, London/Surrey based Oscar Rees began playing the guitar at the age of 6. Heavily encouraged by his father, also a musician, the guitar quickly became the focus of his time, much to the displeasure of his school teachers. At age 11 he continued to grow passionate about performing while attending local rock schools.

Heavily influenced during his teens with the likes of Green Day, Guns N Roses, Nirvana and Metallica, during this time Oscar began developing his skills as a songwriter while also establishing himself as a confident performer through touring and playing in a range of bands furthering his musical experiences.

As well as his ongoing work as a touring and session player, Oscar is also a passionate and experienced teacher, beginning teaching the guitar at 17 years old. Teaching across all ages and levels, he has developed an adaptable and confident teaching style, which proves popular with his students. Oscar currently teaches on behalf of The Rhythm Studio.

Originally from a small countryside town in Wiltshire, Oscar moved to Fulham, London in 2014 to attend BIMM Institute, graduating in 2018 with a BMus in Popular Music Performance (Guitar). After graduating, Oscar has continued to work as a freelance musician, guitarist and guitar teacher. He has worked in a range of environments such as touring in originals and function bands, musical theatre, studio sessions and dep work. He has also taught privately as well as in primary and secondary schools.

Currently Oscar is the guitarist for Kent-based rock band Gallows Circus and acoustic guitarist for Irish-folk band Electric Eden.
